The first was very simple, and really I should have spotted it. Basically the program was failing to find data file because of the working path, and hanging. The second problem was less easily solved. I was asking for 1280*760 of virtual screen memory. On re-reading the Allegro docs, I discovered that you can't depend on anything over 1024*1024, so I reprogrammed the game to work within these boundaries. Hey presto, it works :-) David Morgan -----Original Message----- From: Shawn Hargreaves Newsgroups: comp.os.msdos.djgpp To: djgpp AT delorie DOT com Date: 01 March 1999 12:08 Subject: Re: Help please.... my game only works on one PC :-( >David Morgan writes: >> I'm having trouble with a game I've written using DJGPP and Allegro. >> It works fine on my PC, but when I transfer it to another PC (I've >> tested it on four completely different systems running NT, Windows 95 >> and Windows 98) it either crashes out with (I think) a segmentation >> fault or locks the computer up completely. > >Allegro programs are never going to work properly under NT.
