Daft problem from a DJGPP/RHIDE newbie.

My keyboard (keyb uk, codepage 850) does send the right character to RHIDE
for logical or bitwise ORs when I type a | (shift \) it appears to be the
right character but the compiler complains, so I have to use alt 1 2 4 to
get the correct char.
Its driving me mad cause I never had these problems with Borland etc, Please
help!
