As far as I can tell, it answers exactly your question, and includes a working example of a function that does similar things. See also section 18.4 which explains how to move data that has to be sent to a real-mode service. Asking people to do the rewriting for you is much easier, but it doesn't make DJGPP docs better. If, on the other hand, you ask specific questions about what the FAQ says, chances are the next release of the FAQ will be more clear on this issue, so that others will benefit too. I suggest to rewrite the code in point as best as you understand from the FAQ, post the rewritten version here, and then ask specific questions about whatever you are unsure about.
