Trying to avoid the use of the MS compiler I have been struggling today with the installation of the gcc and gxx compilers. My steps: 1) get djdev201.zip, bnu281b.zip, gcc281b.zip, gdb416b.zip, lgp2811b.zip, mak377b.zip and gpp281b.zip (all the stuff that Zip File Picker suggested) plus the information files. 2) unzip them preserving directory structure. 3) Add the relevant two lines to my AUTOEXEC.BAT with the path and the env. 4) Reboot the machine. 5) Edit a simple test.cc program. 6) try to compile it gxx -o try.exe try.cc The error message: c:/djgpp/bin/ld.exe: cannot open -lstdcxx: No such file of directory (ENOET) 7) Search in the FAQ and past mails for similar problems in the past. Someone indeed suffered something close and the advise was to go to djgpp/gnu and get a new djgpp.env updated for gpp281. 9) redo 6). Get the same error than before. Any suggestions???? Am I missing something really obvious??????
