But I will tell you that you either use the GUI functionality in allegro, or you should goto the allegro web site and look at useful links or utilities www.tulula.demon.co.uk I think this is the correct address. There are several other GUI addons which allow multi pop-up boxes like in windows. I cannot remember all of them by name. There is also a library called Winallegro which is a windows type library to allow windows applications to be written (you need stuff like direct X and Visual C++ dll's os somthing like that) Carl P.S. I have a zipped document that gives a tutorial on GUI which I could send to you by request (HTML) > ---------- > From: Bob Carper[SMTP:bcarper AT csi DOT com] > Reply To: djgpp AT delorie DOT com > Sent: Thursday, November 05, 1998 03:27 > To: djgpp AT delorie DOT com > Subject: Beginner's graphics question > > I have been trying to figure something out for the last month or so by > myself with no luck.  I have been learning C over the last few months > so I'm a beginner.  I have a program that I wrote that I use for > shipping that I would like to put in some "pop-up boxes" (correct > term?).  My program uses structures to contain customer info so all I > do is type in the customer number.  It then asks things like the the > ticket number, number of packages, package weight, etc.  It then uses > that info to print bill of ladings and labels.  Not tricky except for > the math on the weight and the zip code address.  I have customers > that have one account number and multiple shipping addresses.  I would > like a "pop-up box" to ask which address to ship to.  >   > I have downloaded Allegro and gone over the docs and examples without > finding out exactly what I want..  My question is do I have to use > graphics to achieve this or is there some simple function I could > use?  How do you retain the screen under the "pop-up box"?  That is > why I think I need to use graphics but I'm probably wrong.  I'm > willing to start at the beginning of learning graphics if that is > what's needed, but I'd like to do that at a later date.  I'd > appreciate any help in the right direction. >   > BTW, DJGPP and RHIDE are great compared to MSVC that I was trying to > learn on. >   > Bob >
