Please note the new updated g77 Info G77.I1 dated 10-22-98 has the following statement: Non-Fortran-related operation of `gcc' is generally unaffected by installing the GNU Fortran version of `gcc'. However, without the installed version of `gcc' being the GNU Fortran version, `gcc' will not be able to compile and link Fortran programs--and since `g77' uses `gcc' to do most of the actual work, neither will `g77'! This may not be true considering that gcc.exe may not have to be copied over by a version provided by g770523b.zip. Is the quoted statement now true? Sorry if I seem to be making a mountain out of a mole hill, but it seems to me this change (i.e., no gcc.exe change needed) should be understood. Ralph
