Edit autoexec.bat to say PATH=C:\DJGPP\BIN;%PATH% The way you did it, you erased dos/windows default path (which is like: PATH=C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;C:\) and replaced it with just C:\DJGPP\BIN. And if win.com isn't in the path, command.com can't find it. You also mention multiple autoexec.bat's? Normally only c:\autoexec.bat is used. Delete/rename the others. Many autoexec.??? are created by install processes of programs, just as a backup, you only _need_ c:\autoexec.bat. hth, robert -- rjvdboon AT cs DOT vu DOT nl | "En dat is niet waar!" sprak ex-Staatsecretaris- www.cs.vu.nl/~rjvdboon | van-Onderwijs Netelenbos fel.
