I think that every programming language has its benefits and its lacks. And I think that Allegro library is a good extension to reach a goal in a shorter time. This is not only a company point of view (I like programming, I did it for my work, but I'm not a professional programmer and I never had problems with my coding times!), it is only to reach a goal and make your idea work. Beyond the lesson one could learn in re-implementig stuff, I think that one should use something useful.
