Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Precedence: bulk ===8<==============Original message text=============== Hello, I am proud to announce the release of Sword3 Beta6. There has been great improvements since beta5. Here are the major changes: 1. Compilation of the text-based part of the library 'out of the box' on MSDOS using DJGPP compiler. The graphical part has not been ported to this plateform yet, but this is under development now (many thanks to Alexander Bokovoy who did a lot for this). 2. The graphical package now has an automatic placement algorithm. No more need to compute coordinates when creating dialog boxes. Moreover, it allows full resizing of components. 3. Unified management of the command line. This allow Sword to intercept its 'standard' command line options, leaving the remaining ones to the client application. 4. A begining of html online documentation (very begining, but it is better than nothing). 5. A cd-audio driver class for Linux/Solaris/Win32. 6. Lot of other minor changes detailed in the documentation. The library is compiled and tested regularly on those systems (please see the documentation for more precision about the tools and compilers needed) : MSDOS, DJGPP (only the text-based part) WIN32, Visual C++ 5/6 UNIX, Linux, GCC 2.8.1 or EGCS 1.1 UNIX, Solaris, GCC 2.8.1 UNIX, Aix, GCC 2.8.1 (except the multithread classes) This library is freely distributed with source code under the Gnu Public License version 2. You can have more information on this and download the version (full source code or linux-x86 binaries) at: http://193.55.36.92/enicolas/computer/sword/ (France) http://www2.hurrah.com/sword/ (USA -- update may be delayed of one day or two) And don't hesitate to email me any comment or suggestions (or bug reports...) Enjoy!
