I've not compiled(assembled ?) a single file by now. On my web page, you will find a version of NASM that has been rebuilt using DJGPP (almost on-topic here). It should solve your "out of memory" problems. The standard NASM distribution also includes a Windows version that doesn't run out of memory as readily.
