I disagree that it was a stupid decision. Everybody has > 20/20 hindsight. LFN=N in 2.00 because it needed to be compatible with 1.12 LFN=N in 2.01 because LFN in 2.00 didn't work *quite* right, and we didn't know if 2.01's LFN would work right. 2.01 had some bugs too, but not as many as 2.00. Also, many zips were 8.3 and didn't work with LFN=Y (like c++ header names). LFN will be Y in 2.02.
