I don't know if this was ever enhanced (I won't call it a bug requiring fixing) to allow multiple apps to share the swap space. This would inhibit running large applications ( those requiring more memory than is physically available ) in the bash shell. Personally I would love to see an actual command.com replacement of bash. Under win95 I almost strictly use bash as my operations shell, switching to command.com after I am sure an application won't accept bash.
