I've just uploaded a new version of Allegro Vivace to www.canvaslink.com. As far as I can see it's visible already. More details are on the web page: http://www.canvaslink.com/gfoot/vivace/ For people who have never heard of it: Allegro Vivace is a game programming tutorial for people using djgpp and Allegro. For people who have seen it before, changes: The whole thing is now built from Texinfo source, which means that I can create it in several formats fairly easily. Currently it's in plain text format and Info format; HTML format is planned (and should be fairly simple to achieve). The Texinfo sources are available, so you can recreate these formats or print it on paper if you know how. Other changes: I've written the "Timers" chapter (including information on regulating your game speed). I also added some information in some places, cross-referenced things a bit, corrected mistakes, reworded things occasionally AT dots{} the usual minor edits. Things which are still missing: One chapter and several sections of other chapters are still not done. There are no "Acknowledgments", and there ought to be. The examples still aren't included (though Grzegorz Adam Hankiewicz has written many of them already). There are no index entries yet. As always, comments, suggestions, complaints and criticism are welcome -- send them to me: george DOT foot AT merton DOT oxford DOT ac DOT uk Enjoy. -- george DOT foot AT merton DOT oxford DOT ac DOT uk ko tavla fo la lojban
