If it does, how can I get rid of it; where is a usable >anti-virus program available (I have none)? Do a web search. If there's something for computers you're looking for, it's probably on the internet out there... somewhere... I often use f-prot, a shareware virus scanner, and usually updated every 4 months or so. To download directly, use this link: ftp://ftp.DataFellows.com/f-prot/free/fp-300.zip and the actual homepage is at http://www.datafellows.com/f-prot/ . Considder a corrupted download. Try testing the djdev201.zip (or latest version) file you downloaded or re-download it. If that doesn't work, virus check. > Basically I am trying to switch from watcom 10 to DJGPP for two >reasons: >1) it has a large user community with loads of source lying around. >2) it is similar to UNIX and linux gcc, so I can easily port to those >(I'm installing linux too). >Is the switch worthwhile? You may want to keep your copy of Watcom. I hear it's a good compiler. It was what was used for DOOM and a few other popular games. DJGPP was used for Quake - a game by id software - so considder holding onto both for a while. -- "DeHackEd" EMail address not given out due to low-life spammers.
