I did it for SB16 some time ago, additionally I draw the spectrum of both channels. Perhaps you can take a look to Allegro WIP, it provides functions to record. My code uses interrupts and hence can work ONLY with SB16 and 100% SBPro compatible cards (only a few had it 1 year ago, seems that the OPL3 based, and they are millons, are good enough to report the end of DMA transfer OK).
