Shawn by "inquiries" I was referring to the lines printed on the screen at stop (see above). >Try running make now: there is always a chance that it will work :-) Well, this would be the third attempt, and its time consuming. What it did twice before was shut down after 27 minutes (a good complete make on Version 3.0 takes 48 minutes--always successful) Before I do it again I would like to be sure whether I should plug in [y] instead of the [n] indicated above. Oh, I could try it again with the [n] and even with a [y], but I would lose my mind. I think I better leave this alone for a while, I'm getting discouraged. Please understand, Version 3.0 does work very well until the WIP attempt. As to where I got the Version 3.0 it had to be either simtel as you indicated or maybe your site, I just don't remember for sure. I always go to the Simtel, but if I did find it on your page or from a link on your page I would have favored that one--it was late. Maybe what I should do is get it again from Simtel, start all over and keep trying. But whatever, I want to know the significance of the "Reversed (or previously applied) patch detected! Assume -R? [n]" statement. Can you tell me what this means? Ralph
