I have little experience with C, and I don't indent to use it much. I just don't like the language. The reason I am looking into DJGPP, is to get access to source for tools like Yacc. But anyway. My main target platform is Windows 3.1. I was really pleased with how smooth RHIDE starts up under Windows. Nice! I've seen in the FAQ that in principle, it is possible to compile programs for Windows too. Although I do have a copy of WINDOWS.H (I have a legit copy of Borland C++4.52), I'm sure this will be way over my head. This probably always will remain this way. But I would like to know if it's possible (I'm sure it is, but I want to know how) to make faceless Windows programs. You know, real Windows programs (not DOS), but without any GUI. It is posssible in VB. I would like to use tools like GREP, or YACC, that process input and convert it to output. If you do that as a DOS program in Windows 3.1, it only works when the DOS window is visible (in a box or full-screen). As soon as I minimize the window, the program seems to stop. I also suspect that I'll end up needing pipes. Any hints? Bart -- In order to reply, no need to tweak my e-mail address
