If, however you are using modes with higher resolutions than 320x200, it will not be able to put all the data in one segment. The way data is spread accross segments in this case is really weird, and I'm not certain of how it's done but the PC Games Programming Ecyclopedia - a sort of online reference guide will help (it's a dos app), try searching for PCGPE on Yahoo. My advice is to get the Allegro library which I am pretty certain will handle all that type of stuff in almost any graphics mode.
