Hello, there, and thanks for a great example of something I wouldn't have
anticipated, but which Windows users may find a helpful caution.

My usual goof is somehow shelling out of Emacs, doing other things, and
then starting another Emacs session without realizing that I'm still in
one <grin>. When I start getting strange PostScript interpreter errors or
weirdly slow performance, and then run mem, I realize that I have two
copies of Emacs loaded! Fortunately, this problem is easy to correct.

In Unix, I'd probably want to get in the habit of starting Emacs and just
taking it for granted from that point on. "General computing environment,"
indeed.
