These two things are pretty much essential if you want to set up DJGPP without help, because we aren't here to give you a DOS tutorial. Please also note that DJGPP comes with instructions, in the 'v2/readme.1st' file. You did read it first, right? No? Well, do so. :-) Okay, now that you've read it, I'll restate it in simple steps: - Make a directory for your DJGPP files. I recommend C:\DJGPP, but you can use whatever you want (*). - Unzip the zipfiles into that directory, making sure to preserve the directory structure. With pkunzip, you must use the '-d' switch. With WinZip, you have to set a menu option (I don't recall which one). If you use the free unzip386 utility from SimTel, you don't need to give it any switches. - Make the required changes to your autoexec.bat (see 'readme.1st'). - Reboot so that the settings take effect. - Compile programs. It's as simple as that. Please look at the DJGPP Frequently Asked Questions list (v2/faq210b.zip from SimTel or online at http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/v2faq/) if you have any problems with these steps. Pay particular attention to chapters 6 and 8. Good luck! -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- | John M.
