Why doesnt anyone (or group) write a GUI similar to windows. I hear all the time people complaining about windows 3.1/3.11 and windows 95/96/97/98 and the huge system requirements. Why doesnt anyone start an organization of programmers and try to create a similar GUI environment for DOS. I'll admit i'm no master programmer (not a novice either) , but it would seem with the all the libraries for DJGPP (video, audio, multithreading, math) and the ability to (perhaps) port some networking and system routines from linux , it wouldnt be "that" diffiult to write a "from scratch" 32bit GUI/OS extension that under GNU may develop a nice developer base ? PS: DLL's and Cryptic Registries Suck! give me one EXE < 1MEG and an INI and i'll be a very happy camper ! If there already is such a thing , please point me to it :-) -------------------==== Posted via Deja News ====----------------------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Post to Usenet
