VIM is the most common editor shipped with Linux. VIM is probably on 99% of all UNIX installations. VIM5 is a much improved version. VIM5 supports syntax highlighting for just about every language you can think of, and has a rich command language which makes heavy use of regex regular expressions, so is easy to learn. Best of all, it's free! The VIM sources compile *right-outta-the-box* with DJGPP. VIM5s(beta) source: ftp://ftp.fu-berlin.de/misc/editors/vim/beta-test/unix/vim-5.0s.tar.gz VIM5s DJGPP pre-compiled binary (for wimps): http://www.primenet.com/~imbe/vim/ ENJOY! Phil
