Maybe someone else will enlighten you. This info is *way* stale. It is correct for DJGPP v1.x and *very* old versions of NT and OS/2. With NT 3.5 and above, and DJGPP v2, everything should work, and you should not need real-mode gcc anymore. See the FAQ for more details.
