First of all, please see the DJGPP FAQ, Section 17.1, and also info gcc under c extensions extended asm Also, there is an excellent tutorial by Brennan "Bas" Underwood with lots of examples of handling local C variables in inline asm; it's also listed in Section 17.1 of the FAQ.
