As near as I can recall, it >has added truecolor support for memory bitmaps and sprites, but not for >actually displaying on the screen, yet. :-) That's not true, the WIP, even the older ones, supports displaying in 15/16/32bit truecolor and newly also 24bit. I think that true color is more than half finished, the only things which aren't are translucency, lighting and texture mapping. Of course there are probably some bugs, one I know of is that if you try to set 640x480x24bit on Cirrus (and I think also on other 1meg cards) it doesn't set screen correctly.
