lots of discussions on this newsgroup refer to apps like Flex,Bison etc,
there are quite a few of these  DJGPP ported progs available.
For those of use who don't have a lot of UNIX experience could someone
give a short post of what these are or could be used for?
is there somewhere on the web to find condensed descriptions?

it would be a waste to have to download all the docs for each different
one just to find out what it does and if it would be useful to me.
