But I can agree, it's well worth doing if you've got the facilities to print that much (I hadn't realised it was that big!), I did the same sort of thing with the Linux documentation. > I wouldn't know how you could improve it, but you certainly > couldn't improve it by subtracting information. There are things I could wish were done differently in it, which would make it easier for me, but they would almost certainly make it harder for other people. To a large extent it's an aesthetic issue, because not everyone thinks alike - it sounds as though your mental processes parallel Eli's more closely than mine do. However, with the aid of grep and less (and occasionally vim) I can usually find what I want in there withing a minute, which is a lot better than I can manage with some commercial documen- tation (the MS Visual C++ online help is abyssmal, I've had to hunt for hours to find things which were neither in a logical place nor indexed by links; the Borland one is not very much better). Give me a straight text file anyday... Chris C
