With any luck, it will be unleashed in a couple of weeks (I have no influence on the release date, so don't ask me when exactly). This version has a lot of major changes. However, it seems that I'm the only poor soul to test the DJGPP version on MS-DOS/MS-Windows. Therefore, a probability that DOS- and Windows-specific bugs will remain undetected is quite high. I am asking DJGPP users to help me test this major new version. If anybody out there has some time to spare, I'd appreciate if you write to me (use private e-mail, do NOT post to the DJGPP news group or the mailing list). I will tell you where to download the latest pretest and send you a few patches that you will need to apply before building Emacs. (Make sure you have 65MB of free disk space.) Ideally, if you see a problem in the pretest version, you should debug it and send the necessary patches to the Emacs maintainers. But even if you cannot afford to debug the problems, just finding them and telling me about them would be a great help. Thanks in advance.
