I'm not looking for flames, just genuine opinions. I think Allegro takes game programming upto a higher level. I always wanted to program a game, but don't have the knowledge or the time to make such a library myself. I have tried in the past, but it lacked speed and other things. And if you have a lib that has all you need, than why bother to re-invent the wheel? Thanks to DJGPP we got rid of the 64k segment barrier, and have a flat memory model, incl. virtual memory.
