I'm currently working on a grafix library/grafix format/paint project
that be used to something similar to tile-based stuff.  Right now I
still writing the Grafix Library but I already have most of the IFAS
(*I*mages, *F*onts, *A*nimations, *S*prites) Grafix Format specification
stuff completed.  Once I finish writing the Graphix Library, I start
writing VESA Paint & finalize IFAS97 specification stuff.  If you have
any questions about IFAS97 format, you can email & I'll email you back a
preliminary IFAS97 concept list.  For compatibility for this new format,
I intend to implement conversion functions to AVI, MPG, JPG, PCX,
GI87/GIF89, & BMP.  All this is done in/& for DJGPP.  I emailed
Allegro's author about compatibility but he has yet to reply.
