hmmmm ... those are called running in a DOS box vs running in DOS mode.
in any case, if your system reboots the system when you exit from either
of these, then you must have done something wrong.

again, this is just chit-chat unless the original poster specfically
describes the problem and posts the SMALLEST possible code that displays
the problem.
