Here is what he sent me: Second, I now have a working port using Allegro + WIP(the current beta/work in progress) to set hicolor modes. It will not be in the next release of Mesa, but I may release a patch on my website if there is enough interest. The shaded and textured demos look great in hicolor mode, even reflect.c looks good(although I don't know why I don't see any reflections or shadows). Cool, no? The next release of Mesa, version 2.3, should be out in about a week. The Mesa homepage is at http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/~brianp/Mesa.html, and Phil's homepage is at http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/7220/. Check them out for more info. -- Serve Gonk.
