Yes. I still use cpp (the C preprocessor) of version 1.12m4 with the rest of v2.01 because the v2.01 cpp crashes all my PCs running plain MS-DOS (v6.22, german). I have reported this problem to the list several months ago. From Charles Sandman I know that he has an idea where the problem might be (in the standard C library). By "crash" I don't mean a segmentation fault or anything like that, which leaves a nice stack trace on the screen. The system is locked completely (needs reboot) and the screen is slightly flickering. I have observed this problem on at least 6 different PCs (so there seems to be no hardware dependency). The problem is highly data dependent. e.g. adding some characters (e.g. whitespace or dummy statements) to a *.c file makes cpp running without problems. But the error is also exactly reproducable (by removing the inserted characters). I have mentioned the german MS-DOS version above because I have also tested cpp on an american MS-DOS version which seems to work properly (at least with the same *.c files maybe the problem just moves around...). Also some people of the list (using english MS-DOS versions) reported no problem. When working in a Win3.1 or Win95 DOS-box there is no problem at all. I had some discussion with Charles Sandman and we finally agreed that there is no problem with CWSDPMI (we tested several versions). Conclusion: Yes. There is something wrong with v2.01. :-( Tony ************************************************************************* Dipl.-Ing.
