There's this thing called WATTCP for DJGPP, it's a partial implementation
of Berkeley sockets for DJGPP, but none-complete. First, only nonblocking
connections are supported. Second, only a very partial part of the BSD
sockets API is supported. Third, I couldn't get it to work, except for the
ping application.

That said, I once downloaded something called VB Socketwrench, which was a
Winsock programming library for VB 4.0 (not Visual Studio, but the old
version of Visual Basic).
