John Aldrich and others provided guidance. After discovering the limitations of the Wi95 DPMI, I now boot up in DOS mode, and use the CWSDPMI. go32-v2 reports ~129Meg disk swap space and 32 Meg memory. Stubedit was used to update the stack space in cc1plus.exe to 16Meg. At compilation, it fails at the same point emitting the virtual memory exhausted error. I know that there is much symbolic information with the HP toolkit; however, it has been compiled into archives using GNU on a Sun platform. I'm open to further comment. Please advise. Otherwise, it appears that this might qualify as a "bug".
