Before you check, this isn't spam, I have only sent it to this newsgroup, comp.os.msdos.djgpp, as it is only applicable here. Sorry to have to start like that, but just because this message includes a link to a web site, people often just call it spam. Not so! What I came to say. As lead programmer of SoftySoft, I realised yesterday that we weren't much of a software company, with no products. So I created the 'SoftySoft one hour project'. These are very small games or similar with only basic gameplay included, no fancy menus, and are supposed to be fun. Yet they are created in an hour or there about. ANYWAY, the point is that, as they don't take me long to write, I don't see much point protecting the source with my life, so I simply uploaded it. It's for DJGPP & Allegro, and is very very simple. Anyone who wants to see simple use of a small subset of the graphics commands might want to look at it, just to learn. If so, go to http://www.softysoft.home.ml.org , and to the downloads page, where you can get your free source. It's probably very badly written. Or, you can download the .exe versions, with some basic supplementary screens. At the minute, you can download the source to a new version of 'lines' (reportedly similar to the bike thing in Tron, but I wouldn't know), or the .exe's, play it some, mail me if you think I should develop it further, use the code yourself (although I doubt you'd want to), etc. etc. The reason I put this message here is to say that it is there, and to say that other such projects will be appearing whenever I get a free hour to write them. If there is any interest, I'll post here every time I put a new one up. Mail me if you think I should. And remember to alter my e-mail address to just T DOT Harte AT btinternet DOT com if you reply to this (damn spammers), but obviously you needn't bother if you mail from the site. Well, sorry if I've wasted valuable on-line time of yours with this message, and please do tell me if you find this service / system at all interesting, because if no-one tells me anything, I'll presume there is no interest and not bother any more. Otherwise, mail away! Enjoy! Thomas (SoftySoft programmer) http://www.softysoft.home.ml.org
