I see some potential problems with this.

1) The DirectX standard is evolving and controlled by microsoft.  
Presumably, the actual driver interface won't change much, but still, 
the next version of Windows might change things.

2) What about VBE/AF?  I don't know what specifically it will support,
but I assume Scitech will release software for it sometime in the next 
1/2 year, and Shawn has already worked on support for it.
