I'm knew to C++ I'm currently taking Abstract Data Types at UT Austin (a Freshman course) we where using C++. I found DJGPP and really loved it since it was free, powerfull, had great support,... But someone told me that it wasn't ANSI compatible atleast not 100%. I wouldn't know what the inconsistencys where since I'm only on Chapter 5 of The C++ programing language second edition :). Now that I heard it from you guys I guess that ANSI stuff was just a rumor :). Well I really love DJGPP, I E-mailed are entire class about it, put up downloading instructions, and am now about to put information about RHIDE wich is great especialy since most of my class mates are using TBC++ 3.0 IDE in the labs and would have a Very easy time switching :) to the better IDE :). I also love Allegro, wich I plan to use this summer :); lots of friends of mine are game enthusiasts and I know they will like it 2 :). I just can't say how much I like DJGPP, RHIDE, Allegro, and GNU :). I've only scaned the FAQS so I guess I better find time between classes to RTFM ;). Sorry for have wasted bandwidth :) -Fernando -- http://www.netforward.com/thepentagon/?occult or http://ccwf.cc.utexas.edu/~arachnid :to check out my niche on the Web.
