(i am not sure about the terminology in the US, but in grade school, we were taugh that the latter set is called the set of 'counting numbers'. variables of type float or double can take on any real value (strictly speaking this is not true, for example, 0 does not have an exact representation.). on computers, the values your variables (real or integer) can take on are restricted by the representation the compiler uses. any clearer? -- Sinan ******************************************************************* A.
