Although not directly related to Allegro(which Is IMHO phenomenal, thanks Mr. Hargraves!) The DJGPP source distribution for Pov-Ray3.0(consult your favorite search engine for URL&mirrors) has some simply increadible font tools, which utilize Windows TTFs.
