Okay (fragment): $(CONFIG_HEADER): stamp-h stamp-h: $(CONFIG_HEADER_IN) $(top_builddir)/config.status cd $(top_builddir) \ && CONFIG_FILES=3D CONFIG_HEADERS=3D$(CONFIG_HEADER) \ $(SHELL) ./config.status @echo timestamp > stamp-h $(srcdir)/$(CONFIG_HEADER_IN): stamp-h.in $(srcdir)/stamp-h.in: $(top_srcdir)/configure.in $(ACLOCAL) acconfig.h cd $(top_srcdir) && autoheader echo timestamp > $(srcdir)/stamp-h.in After further investigation, the bug appears to be with make/bash, all: = echo hello && echo there fails in the same way. Output is $ make echo hello && echo there make.exe: *** [all] Error -1 So make/bash doesn't like &&. Hmmm. Well I _could_ live with that... >Exactly how did you ``install /bin/sh'? mkdir d:/bin cp d:/djgpp/bin/bash.exe d:/bin/sh Worked fine for configure (which failed before I did this and only this). (In AUTOEXEC.BAT: set SHELL=3Dd:/djgpp/bin/bash.exe) >> PS set | less doesn't seem to work. Hmmm. >From the COMMAND.COM prompt? It certainly works for me. What are the >problems that you see? No, from bash. There is no output. $? =3D 0. BTW, without spaces I get: $ set=DDless bash.exe: set=DDless: command not found which is strange behaviour for bash (fine under Linux). =
