My first guess would be that the DOS configuration doesn't install a disk cache (such as SmartDrv), while Windows 3.11 loads its built-in 32-bit cache (if you enable 32-bit file access). Please read the system configuration advice in section 3.9 of the DJGPP FAQ list (v2/faq202b.zip from the same place you get DJGPP) and configure your system as it suggests. > I already tried running DOS without any Config.sys or Autoexec.bat, bare > feet, no difference.
