I don't need anything to render it nicely, just to > create a readable document. You can use GhostScript, available at ftp.cs.wisc.edu in the /ghost/aladdin directory. It's free software, but they use a different license than GPL. GhostScript used to be "just print/view a readable document" tool. However the latest distribution includes a set of commercial quality type-1 fonts, making very nice printed document. The screen viewer is still less than perfect. -- Weiqi Gao weiqigao AT crl DOT com
