The SB 1.0 has only one channel of digital playback, so the CPU must mix all of the audio that is put through it in order to simulate the 4 channels (or whatever) that the mod file wants. But my MOD loader never worked properly, and I never got the GUS IRQ code working either. (Hooking the timer IRQ isn't such an awful thing, though.) (I never bothered figuring out DMA. I poked the samples into GRAM byte by byte. Worked pretty well, though. (Except that I accidentally incremented my GRAM pointer twice per sample, which REALLY screwed things up a bit... :) But yes, I will be more than willing to beta-test it.
