Currently, I am working in the Ergonomics (Human Factors) in Telerobotics and Control Group at the University of Toronto. I am interested in carry out a survey and ergonomic analyses on the design and usability of the typical VDT workstation for software developing professional. I should mentioned that I myself am in the DJGPP news group, and am getting great help from communicating with the other people and by sharing ideas. Your interests and concerns will be appreciated if you can briefly answer the following questionnaire. How many hours do you work in front of computers every day approximately? 2. do you try to adjust yourself comfortably during your work hours? 3. How much do you concern about your health, in particular under tight schedule and work pressure? 4. what kind of workstation do you have? specially designed one or just ordinary office desk both for computer and for writing? 5. Have you had any symptoms such as neck and (lower or upper) back injury/pains, eyeburning, headache, or others that you think related to the work? 6. do you use mouse more often then use keyboard? or vice versa? 7. do you move around during your working hour? never, a little, or quite a lot? 8. how far away are your eyes from the monitor approximately? 9. Do you satisfy with your work environment? Have you ever ask your boss to get more healthy one in terms of human factors or based on some ergonomic guideline? 10. Have you heard about wrist pad(supporter) for keyboard and for mouse and foot supporters? Will you intend to use that if you are provided with one? 11. Where and how do you put your feet and legs? (ground, foot-supporter, bend or straight) 12. What is your sitting posture? (sitting upright or slightly bend forward)? 13.
