They were pretty fast on my old ps/2 (22MHz 386), work even better on may new 66MHz 486. Less, a couple of vi ports, grep, rgrep (really nice), gnu sed, diff, awk etc all are either available or just a compile away (from gnu sources). I also beleive emacs (and Tcl/Tk) will compile with X support using xlibemu. This was somewhat slow on 22MHz machine but seems just great on 66MHz :) They are all worth porting! Osman
