You can use NOEMS, this is what my configuration is:
 DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS /TESTMEM:OFF
 SHELL=C:\4DOS\4DOS.COM C:\4DOS /E:1024 /p
 BUFFERS=3
 FILES=30
 LASTDRIVE=Z
 FCBS=16,0
 DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS
 DOS=HIGH,UMB

And go32 works fine.......
