Jenkins" Cc: djgpp AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Dear Sir: As far as I could tell when I tried the same thing, GNU Emacs version 19.25 on MS-DOS is broken. You can get temacs to dump if you change the PURESIZE constant in the src/m/386dos.h file to 230000 instead of 220000 (or better in the src/puresize.h file, but I was lazy) but even then it will not work correctly. I found that instead of echoing what I typed to the screen immediately, it would print diamond ('\x4', 'C-d' to the Emacs enthusiast) characters. The actual text would be displayed when the screen was refreshed, but I do like seeing what I type. Version 19.24 of that program, however, works quite well. I have prepared a distribution including compiled binaries for the 386 and 486 processors, but have not had the time to upload it yet. If you and others are interested, I will ask someone like SimTel to carry it. Yours, D. D.
