  If you'd rather stay with DOS, why not try DOSKEY?  It does offer an alias
facility, albeit awkward one.
  I use the ANARKEY shareware program, which gives me aliases AND intellegent
filename completion and command history, all in under 1K conventional/high
memory and 16K EMS.  Give it a try, it's wonderful.
