Has anyone the necessary hardware, software, curiosity and time to contribute such information? I think it would be of general interest? I think that comparing gcc to single target compilers (like bcc et al) reveals once more that there is no free lunch: A multi target compiler with efficient optimizations for all targets is necesarily slower than a compiler written specifically for a single cpu family.
